RCU

Whitespace successfully tendered for the RCU office refurbishment project, winning it on innovative design and value for money.  The remit was to transform the current office accommodation, which was outdated, overcrowded and ineffective, into a space with versatility, light and plenty of tidy storage!

By re-planning and organising the space, and by using internal office partitioning, Whitespace were able to provide an increased number of permanent desk positions, plus some additional pods for quiet working or hot desks.

Meeting space had always been a problem for RCU, especially for when there was a large turnout, board meetings could not be held in-house. Whitespace provided a solution which would offer flexibility and make the most of the area available.  An extra large boardroom was provided with moving internal office partitioning which can be closed to divide the space into two rooms if necessary. To see the plans click RCU.

Storage had previously been untidy and had taken up valuable office space.  Whitespace installed storewalls around the perimeter of the open plan which made the best of the space as they reach from floor to ceiling.  The new false ceiling and lights gave the tired property an immediate facelift.

Another versatile aspect of the job was to provide a kitchen/bistro area which could double up for informal meetings.  A feature floor provided a nice division of space in the open plan and the vibrant colours used make it a nice change of environment from the more ‘down to business’ colour scheme in the office.

As the job progressed RCU were impressed with all aspects of the Whitespace project and additional services were requested such as installation of an intruder alarm and access control.  Whitespace handled every element of this complicated project, which was done in phases to allow the office to remain open, and RCU were delighted with the finished results.
