Bolton School – Girl’s Division Dining Area

Following our successful delivery of the classroom furniture to the Girl’s Junior School and more recently the Common Room, we were once again invited to work alongside architects Cassidy & Ashton to redesign and furnish the Girl’s Division dining facility at one of the country’s leading educational establishments, Bolton School.

Every project has its challenges and this one was no exception, our brief was to provide the school with a clean modern environment to accommodate the dining needs of over 260 pupils in any one sitting, that would also compliment this stunning Grade II listed building.

As the design of the area was driven by headcount extensive space planning was key to the success of the project. Consideration was also given to the size and shape of the room and seating preferences. Our goal was to deliver a dining facility to relax, inspire and above all encourage students to use it. Therefore the scheme was developed through a series of workshops where pupils and staff sampled different seating options before settling on their preferred design.

The introduction of bespoke curved tables, which mirror the feature bulkhead ceiling and lighting system above, not only helped with capacity, but they also make the area more comfortable and encourage interaction amongst students.

Splashes of colour in the seating, light hard wearing flooring and the white walls compliment the traditional aesthetics of the building, resulting in a modern exciting space.

Students and staff can now enjoy eating and socialising in this stylish and comfortable environment.

Completed over the summer break, we are extremely proud to be part of this prestigious school, helping them to provide a happy and secure environment within which students can grow and develop.
