Investing in staff wellbeing…
How and where you eat your lunch at work depends a lot on the facilities you have available and their condition. Do staff have access to a microwave, fridge and somewhere to sit?
Some companies we visit say they don’t have room for such a space, so staff are left eating lunch at their desks, which to be honest isn’t great. The lunchtime habit of eating at a desk comes with it’s own problems. The crumbs that accumulate on and around the keyboard provide the perfect environment for bacteria to thrive, not to mention the smells that could be upsetting colleagues.
Increasingly, more and more businesses are seeing the benefits, not only of creating a separate kitchen area within the workspace, but also of providing a space where staff can go to relax and eat their lunch away from their desks.
Still think you don’t have room for an office kitchen? Think again…
As part of their office refurbishment, we transformed the basement area from a cluttered storage space into a spacious staff kitchen, incorporating contemporary white units with a contrasting black worktop. We also installed new ceilings and lighting, which, combined with the newly painted walls and fresh blue tiling, really brightened up the space.
Whether it’s an office kitchen, teapoint or a complete office refurbishment, from concept to completion, we can take care of it all.
